Sunday Spring Sojourn

I love this time of the year…. as the flowers start to pop out, the grass turns from brown to green and the air starts to actually feel warm.

A day like today in September (since it was pretty cloudy and in the 60's) would likely be a lot quieter, but in the kick-off of a new season, everyone was out and about.

I wanted to capture it in some way… the smells and the energy, and was coming up dry until I saw this ice cream cart and gentleman approaching. It was the closest I could get to getting the essence of the moment in one snapshot: the sound of the bell from the ice cream cart and the smoke from a nearby barbecue - all sure signs that spring is here.
