Peace of Snow

There is always some magic in a snowstorm.

Everything stops - people avoid getting in their cars, schools close and grocery stores are stripped of most commodities the night before, so that people can stay in and marvel at the snow from their window. Silence.

For me, I like to think of it as a sign to slow down... An excuse to enjoy the people that you are sheltered with or a chance to relish in some alone time.

And then the peace of snow breaks. The sound of snow plows immerse and the shovels come out.

So next time it snows where you are - think of it as an excuse to check out and just enjoy the moment OR play in the snow (before the peace of snow breaks)!

Crayola Challenge: YELLOW GREEN.

My last color of the challenge features my childhood, Lori, who also happens to be an amazing photographer. The reflection on her shirt is a YELLOW GREEN match.

THAT's a wrap! I hope you've enjoyed my colors... stay tuned for my next challenge in the next couple of weeks!

 Las Vegas, NV.

Crayola Challenge: YELLOW.

 Philadelphia, PA.

Crayola Challenge: WISTERIA.

WISTERIA as a result of a crazy lightening storm!

Chicago, IL.

Crayola Challenge: WILD STRAWBERRY.

Farmers market rhubarb = WILD STRAWBERRY.

Chicago, IL.

Crayola Challenge: WHITE.

I couldn't resist utilizing the obvious subject of snow for my WHITE. What I love about this picture is that it is a black and white in it's natural state... there was no processing to this photo.

Foster Beach, Chicago, IL.

Crayola Challenge: VIVID TANGERINE.

This yummy tangerine drink made a perfect VIVID TANGERINE shadow.

Crayola Challenge: VIOLET RED.

There are a lot of beautiful reds and violets in this picture, but the flowers in the front happen to have just a hint of VIOLET RED on the dark part of their petals.

Skagit Valley, WA.

Crayola Challenge: VIOLET.

VIOLET was the theme for my niece, Katy's Sweet 16. Dress, balloons, nail polish and of course the cake!
