Exploring Malta - A Hidden Gem

I was so amazed by the beauty in the country of Malta! It definitely wasn't on my radar until about a month ago, when my sister recommended making the trip (oh, and that there were really affordable tickets this time of the year)! I am so glad we went and explored this hidden gem. Here is the curation of the over 1000 photos I took.

2016 Photo Challenge - AUGUST = Summer Golden Hours

One of my favorite times of the day to take photos is during the golden sunlight! I thought I'd take more and have a hard time choosing.... but the month got away from me. Thankfully, I have my trusty  i-Phone with me at all times, and I was able to capture this shot while in St. Paul for the Twin Cities 3-Day at the most golden part of the day!

I Owe You Project: Sail View at Sunset.

If you are a regular here, you've already seen this picture (about a month ago)... but you may notice a few tweaks to make it canvas ready for my good friends, Lynn and Ivan who are the recipient of my latest "I Owe You" gift. They've waited patiently, and I am happy to say that the time has come!

This picture was taken on a beautiful August evening from "Still Crazy" on Lake Michigan.

The perspective of the picture makes you feel like you are actually in the boat, which is always (at least for me, and I know Lynn and Ivan) a great feeling of freedom and peace - especially with the beautiful colors of sunset!

Lynn and Ivan... enjoy the photograph! And thanks for all of the many times you've brought me aboard to enjoy the beauty of Lake Michigan. I appreciate it more than you know!

Just Because: I Appreciate My Sunset Skyline.

I got home from work (downtown office) yesterday and was delighted to find my front west-facing room flooded with sunlight (at 6:30!). I spent a few minutes just sitting on my couch in silence relishing the warmth and appreciating the sunlight on my face. Just a few minutes later, I opened my eyes to see this fantastic sunset. Not only was the sky beautiful, but I really began to appreciate the church steeple that peeps up right in the middle of my "skyline".

25 Minute Sunset

It was a long day of 4 flights back and forth from Chicago to Tucson yesterday.... These days, flights are second nature to me, so I don't always appreciate what can be experienced in the air. On my third leg of my trip, a lady in the seat across from me in her 60's exclaimed that this was her first flight in her life! I thought, "WOW"... I've taken so many flights in my life and I am half her age! At that moment, I looked out the window to find this view... The lady across from me said - "so this is what you experience when you fly!" I thought - "not always!" I quickly snapped the view to be a reminder that there are so many beautiful moments in life - especially when you least expect them.... and to appreciate them as they happen (even if it's just another flight of the many). 

 

Puerto Rico - Bird Passes Through Sunset

Rincon, Puerto Rico is all about the sunsets. It is literally a ritual for locals and tourists alike... Everyone grabs a drink and plops into a beach chair and watches it as if it is a movie or a hit TV show. What I love is that every one is unique... Sometimes there are clouds and sometimes a bird passes through and luckily makes the shot. There will be a lot more where this came from -  of sunsets and beach shots, but I just had to put one up tonight (before the culling through begins) to show the pure natural beauty that I was able to experience this last week. Can't wait to share more!
