Photo 88 - Grateful For….

Every year my family goes around the Thanksgiving table and each person says what they are thankful for. I love this tradition for so many reasons…. but mostly because it is one moment in the year where everything stands still and you're surrounded by pure gratitude and love.

As I sat on the plane waiting to take off to go back east on Tuesday, I began to think of all of the things I was grateful for. Like always, my head was flooded - family, friends, a roof, my work, clean water… the list goes on -  but then there it was, as I watching the de-icing of the plane, it dawned on me what I was particularly thankful for this year (on top of all of the aforementioned many things)….

How life experiences open up your eyes.

And specifically my experience with applying to be Chief World Explorer with Jauntaroo this past fall. (See Unexpected Light.) I cannot tell you how much that opened my eyes… from feeling a confidence I've never felt before to more importantly feeling such love and support from so many family, friends and people I don't even know. What an amazing opportunity!

So this year, I am grateful for so much (including the de-icing guy who made me safe on my flight!) but mostly the love that surrounds me day and day out.
